'R Story
Canal Street Kings was founded by Wolfy - The King of Canal Street, after his drag father the drag king extraordinaire Valentino King passed away. For many years Wolfy and Valentino had been the only working drag kings in Manchesters gay village, a community that boasts inclusivity, but had no other drag kings despite showcasing hundreds of queens. Teaming up with The Vicar's Daughter and TK Maxximus, we're on a mission to put drag kings on every stage by facilitating drag king workshops, collaborating events and running our own cabaret. First in Manchester, then, the world! We've got a long way to go and want your help to start the drag king revolution!

Canal Street Kings exists to create a safe inclusive community at the heart of Manchester's gay village to showcase and highlight the incredible art of drag kings, things and swings. Key to our success has been building a community of likeminded people. Whether you are a first time drag king, professional or just enjoy watching a cabaret, Canal Street Kings is for you. Come join us and get involved at one of our monthly drag king workshops or cabaret events and see what everyones been talking about.
'R Events
Working in partnership with the Cockatoo Club, we run monthly drag king cabaret events with an open mic. We are always looking to teach the art of drag king to new people and platform as many drag king performers as possible. We have received funding from the Manchester Pride Superb Grant in order to facilitate a number of our drag king workshops.
